According to this article the Italian government, has, thanks to a poorly worded law, effectively legalized p2p sharing in the country. The only files which may not be shared are the FLAC Lossless rips, a quality of sound file generally only sought by extreme audiophiles that allows for transfer from CD to digital without any quality loss. For example, iTunes sells files in 192kbps mp3s and/or 128kpbs m4as (the latter being the default quality that iTunes “rips” files from disc in). If you want more information on FLAC Lossless and other types of audio files click here for a side by side comparison.
