According to this article sales of the song “Monsters” by Matchbook Romance (who played at Quinnipiac last year) have skyrocketed selling approximately 5500 digital singles a week as well as seeing an increase in album sales, raising the bands profits over 1000% during the holiday season. This is a perfect example of the repeated claim that Guitar Hero may very well be giving rock music, especially the lesser known bands featured on the game, a much needed financial boost.
